How Affiliate Links Work

When I review a tool on AI Tool Insider, I sometimes include an affiliate link. Here's what happens when you click one:

1. You click the link — it takes you to the tool's website, same as any normal link
2. A cookie is placed — the tool's affiliate program drops a tracking cookie on your browser (usually lasting 30–120 days depending on the program)
3. If you sign up or buy — the company knows I referred you, and I earn a commission
4. You pay the same price — affiliate links don't add any cost. In many cases, I've negotiated exclusive discounts that actually save you money

This is how AI Tool Insider stays free. The commissions from affiliate partnerships fund the time I spend testing, writing, filming, and maintaining this site and newsletter — without charging you a subscription fee.

My Editorial Promise

This is the part that matters most:

Here's the reality: a tool with a 70% commission is worthless to me if readers try it and it sucks — because they'll never trust me again. My editorial credibility is worth more than any single commission check. The business model only works if you trust the recommendations.

What Affiliate Commissions Do NOT Influence

• Whether a tool gets reviewed — I choose tools based on reader relevance, not commission rates
• The review rating — a tool's score is based on quality, not its affiliate program
• Ranking in comparisons — when I compare two tools, the better one wins regardless of which pays more
• Cons and downsides — every review includes honest negatives. I don't hide problems to protect commissions
• Recommendation order — tools are recommended by fit for the reader's use case, not by payout

Non-Affiliate Content

Not everything on this site is monetized. I regularly cover:

• Free tools with no affiliate programs (open-source projects, free tiers, etc.)
• Industry news and AI trends that don't involve product recommendations
• Workflow tutorials where the tool happens to be free or doesn't have an affiliate program
• Comparison posts where the winner sometimes doesn't have an affiliate program

If a great free tool beats a paid one, I say so — even if the paid one has a 50% commission.

Your Choice

You are never obligated to use affiliate links. If you prefer, you can:

• Navigate directly to any tool's website by typing the URL into your browser
• Search for the tool on Google and click the organic result
• Use an ad blocker or cookie blocker to prevent affiliate tracking

You'll still get the same product at the same price. The only difference is I won't earn a commission — which is completely your call. No hard feelings.
